Summer Stuff

I can't believe summer is winding down. We've had lots of fun but it feels like it's flown by.

Summer means baseball and Austin was in his first year of coach pitch this summer. Coach pitch is a little more exciting than T-ball, depending on how you look at it:) Kurtis was his coach this year and he had a fun little team and I'm sure they won every game:) I meant to get some better pictures the last game and was hoping for a team picture but the wind was blowing a zillion miles an hour (surprise huh) and all the kids (and parents) just wanted to out of there ASAP
I took this picture of Halle a few months ago, but it is of her standing up on her own for the very first time. This is quite an accomplishment for a girl that wouldn't even put any weight on her legs for the first 8 months of her life. She's now almost 14 months and she will walk behind her little toy stroller but she has no interest whatsoever in walking by herself or even trying to stand alone. Don't quite know what to do about it, I guess she'll walk when she's ready!

The NBA draft was a huge deal at our house this year. Austin couldn't wait to see where Jimmer was going and to see who the Jazz picked. He was disappointed Jimmer didn't end up with the Jazz. But I guess we'll be moving to Sacramento where Jimmer is going anyways, because Tate informed me (while looking at the calendar on my phone) that I was getting married again and that I was marrying Jimmer Fredette. He's pretty funny lately.

So now that we have DVR, Austin of course recorded the draft and watched it over and over again. One time he watched it and wrote down each player's name and what team they were going to. Then he watched it again and drew each team's mascot. Then he watched it again and drew each team's jersey. These are all amongst the times he watched it just to watch it.

This picture is of him pretending to be drafted by each team. He got out every hat that he, Tate, and Kurtis own and lined them up. Then when a team drafted someone he would pick a hat and pretend to be the one drafted. He would walk over to me and Kurtis and shake our hand like they do to the commissioner on TV. He loves getting into things like this. He'll probably be moving on to an obsession with football since it will starting pretty soon. He's got quite the imagination!

And summer means we get to meet a Jazz player! This year it was Jeremy Evans.....wait a minute, wasn't he here last year?:) Maybe next year we'll meet someone new. It was still fun for the boys and they were amazed with how tall he is and his dunks:) Tate wasn't so sure about standing next to a giant stranger:)
Pretty much every night is a sleep out at our house. My boys love to sleep out and watch movies. The boys come visit our house in the summer, they pretty much live at my parents. This is what they do with their sleeping bags the next day. They like to have wrestling matches with the sleeping bags over their heads. It's pretty comical!

Summer also means sleeping in.....for the kids that is:) I like to peek in on Halle at night and see how she's sleeping. She's always in weird places that look way uncomfortable. But it must not be cuz she sleeps FOREVER! She usually sleeps for like 12 hours a night. There's been a few times this summer that I've put her to bed around 10:30 and we had to go in her room and wake her up at noon the next day! Crazy!

Just a picture of the kids hangin' out, the best part of summer!
