1st Grade!

1st grade? Where has time gone? Austin started school last week, and movin' up to 1st grade is kind of a big change for him (and me)! He gets to go all day now, which means school lunch and 3 recesses (he insists that it's 4 cuz he counts the time on the playground before school even starts!) His teacher this year is Mrs. Bassett and he really likes her. He's kinda having a rough time adjusting this year, he really misses home while he's at school which is pretty unusual for Austin. It does make me feel good that he misses me, but it also breaks my heart to drop him off with him on the verge of tears! He's getting more used to it every day though. Austin is such a good kid and is a smarty pants, I know he's smarter than I was at that age. He's so good to get up every morning and make his bed without being asked, he does his homework and reading in a jiffy with no complaints, and he's always willing to do his chores when I ask him too.
This is him on the first day, there was no way he was going without his Angels jersey on. We had to convince him to let us wash it the day before since he had worn it practically every day for at least a week. He looked so grown-up, it definitely was a tear-jerker!

I think Austin really misses Tate while he's at school, and I know Tate misses him. Austin is always so good to play football or baseball with Tate, and he even still likes to play cars with him (as long as Tate isn't being over-protective of his cars and attacks Austin if he plays with the wrong ones).

I thought this picture was too cute. They're just loungin' with their Cheez-its watching a baseball game after church one day!
Didn't last too long though. We have lots of wrestling matches and even more tackling going on at our house. Austin looks like he's crying for help in this picture, but really he was laughing at Tate! They've both ended up with some pretty good bumps and bruises, I'm actually pretty surprised we haven't ended up with some stitches or even concussions from it all! I love watching them play and have fun together, here's to lots more bumps and bruises!

Cute boys! Man I was hoping boys didn't have the same type of opinions on what they wear! Lola does the same thing, lately she insists on wearing these hand-me-down leotards that someone I work with gave her. I can't wash them fast enough! I'm glad you have such a good boy, you deserve it!

He is quite handsome! I hope it gets a little easier for him and you. You might want to enjoy it as much as you can because here soon they aren't going to want anything to do with us and I'm afraid it's going to happen quick. So sad!
