School has started again, which I think is a good and bad thing. Good cuz we're finally back to some sort of a schedule, but bad cuz summer is already over.
Austin and Tate were super excited for school to start. Austin is excited to be back with his friends and even though he would never admit it I think he's glad to be doing schoolwork again. He's so good to come right home and get his homework done without complaining or even being asked. I think he's feeling kinda old since he's on the big kids playground with the 4th graders now. Of course the thought of me walking him in on the first day never even crossed his mind, he just wanted to be dropped off at the playground. Hope he's not getting too cool for his Mom already!
Tate started the day after Austin and he could not wait to get there. I walked him in, but he didn't act at all like he was gonna miss me even for a second. He was pretty proud of his new Cars 2 backpack, and had that thing chuck full a few days before school. He had notebooks, a big case of colored pencils and crayons, some toys, and a bottle of lotion:) I convinced him he didn't need all that stuff at school, especially since it was so heavy he couldn't even carry it. Here he is on the first day, as proud of himself as ever!
I didn't get a picture of Austin on his first day, don't know what I was thinking. But here they are after school on Tate's first day.
After the first week, Austin started riding his bike to school. I didn't shed any tears on the first day of school, but I wanted to when I watched him drive away on his bike. It just makes him seem so old! I think he was a little nervous the first time, but he hasn't complained since and seems to love it. And we've only had to replace the bike lock once so far:)
