East Coast Trip Day 3: More Washington D.C.

We started Day 3 off by going to the WWII Memorial.

Another view of the Washington Monument from the WWII Memorial This is called Freedom Wall and the Field of Stars. Each of the gold stars on this wall represent 100 people that died. Over 400,000 people died in WWII. Wow! Next the group headed to a tour of the Capital Building. Kurtis and I went to the Holocaust Museum to stand in line for tickets for the group instead. I didn't get pictures of the Capital or the Holocaust Museum. The Holocaust Museum was so cool. Very sad, can't believe that stuff even happened. Definitely a tear jerker.

We then headed to the Museum of Natural History, again no pictures;) We then walked over to the National Archives to see the Declaration of Independance and the Constitution. No pictures are allowed in there so that's my excuse for not having any.

Then we walked, some more, to the White House. While we were there three helicopters were leaving. The guards outside said the President was in one of them! Every time he comes to or leaves the White House, three helicopters fly and he's in one of them.

We then packed up the bus and drove to Gettysburg. We had the best bus driver, Bill, and the best tour guide, Liz. They did everything they could do make sure we saw the things we wanted to and fit everything in. Liz even went and bought a birthday cake for one of the girls and we surprised her with it at the hotel that night.
