Topham Talk: Easter Weekend 2011

I always looks forward to Easter. First, because Easter has the best candy ever and second, it's always a fun weekend spent with the family.

This year neither Kurtis or I were working so we headed to Mesquite for about 4 days. Kurtis' parents have a condo down there and it's a great place to get away and relax and enjoy some warm weather.

There's a pool in the little subdivision down there so of course that was on the top of the list for the kids to do. I'll admnit I was excited and looking forward to the pool too. Let's face it....these legs haven't seen sun in a really long time! I was kind of a party pooper when it came to actually getting in the pool, but Halle was happier out of the water than in so I volunteered to stay out with her:)

We decided to spend some time in St. George too since there isn't a ton of stuff to do in Mesquite. We headed to Fiesta Fun and the kids had a blast.

They had some fun go-karts for little kids, they were zooming around that track like lightning!

These go-karts were a bit faster and were lots of fun. Of course Tate and I came in first place.

They have these fun Bumper Boats to ride on. You can ride around squirting other people, the other two boats didn't appreciate Austin getting them wet:)

Poor Halle just had to hang out in the stroller while the rest of us had fun

Miniature Golf at Fiesta Fun. It was 18 holes and I'm pretty sure it took us as long as a regular sized golf course would take!

The easter bunny didn't hide the baskets very good on easter morning, the kids found them in a jiffy. We had to wake them up to find them so we could get ready to go to church with the cousins that started at 8 am! Craziness! Ok I know it's 9 Utah time but the thoughts of being ready for church by 8 made me panic!

Tate was very pleased with Hungry Hungry Hippos, can't ya tell by the look on his face?

Austin was sure the easter bunny would bring him a Wii game, but no such luck this year. Guess the easter bunny was thinking of some less expensive easter gifts:) But he really likes his new batting gloves.

We are Braves fans (have been since I was a kid!) and the Easter bunny just happened to bring all the kids a Braves shirt. These are some of the twenty attempts we took at getting a picture of them all in their new clothes. All attempts pretty much a failure:)

We usually have an Easter egg hunt sometime during the weekend at my parent's house and we made it back from Mesquite just in time. We came back to Delta wearing shorts and t-shirts and it was pouring rain and very chilly in my mom's backyard! The rain stopped for a while so we could get the eggs hidden and then found again. We ended up with way too much candy, good thing I don't like chocolate so I won't eat any of it:)
