Easter 2013

Gotta love Easter time....the weather, BBQ's, time off from school, Easter Egg Hunts, family time, and last but not least Easter Candy! Nothin' better than the candy that comes around during the Easter holiday!

We had a fun neighborhood BBQ and egg hunt this year, the kids had a blast hanging out with friends.

Halle and Lottie
 Cy and Tate
 Lottie, Halle, and Shayne
Lottie, Halle, Shayne, and Savy. Cute girls!
Enjoying their treasures from the egg hunt
What good guys to pull the girls around in the wagon! Those are pretty durable wagons, there were lots of kids in there at one time!

Tate, Cy, and Austin. Pretty good kids.

Wouldn't be Easter without dying eggs.  We had lots of "accidents"= spilled eye and cracked eggs.  Oh well, it was worth the fun.

On Easter Sunday we had our traditional BBQ and easter egg hunt at my parents house. LOTS of treasures were found!!

 The brotherly battle begins!!
A few good shots of the crew
Maddox, Aiden, Tate, Austin, Halle, and Kaylie

The kids finds on Easter morning!
Halle was excited and loved her basket of goodies. They all got new swimsuits and flip-flops from the Easter Bunny this year.
Austin was excited too, he claims he's getting a little too "old" for this kinda stuff:)
Not Tate though....he may never be too old for this kinda stuff:)
 Halle sportin' her new shades!
 And her new chapstick....whoa

Another fun Easter with lots of memories made!

Catch-Up Time!

I sure haven't taken very many pictures so far this year. Guess we've been pretty boring lately:)

Sunday afternoons are usually filled with basketball or football playing in the living room since it's too cold to go outside right now.  Halle doesn't miss a second of it either.  She's not really a girly girl, but how can ya be when the only thing you see is your brother's playing sports or watching them on TV.  She really doesn't even mind being tackled once in a while, and she loves to be the one doing the tackling.

Once in a while she decides she wants to wear her princess dresses. She has four of them but only ever wears the "Tangled" dress.  As much as I try to get her to be girly it just doesn't happen. The only thing different than the boys is that she wants to pick what she wears and changes her clothes a million times a day, and the dramatic attitude:)
Thought I better get a picture of her in her dress while she actually had one on!!
She did have a tea party with some of her dolls....once. Pretty much the only time she's played with the Rapunzel doll she got for Christmas. Oh...and she hates to get her hair done. Thus the beautiful hair in all the pictures:)
Wearing the boys hats at Grandma's house!

She does like to put make-up on, which is a good sign:) Only she wants to do it by herself and wear a lot of it.

And these are the kind of things that happen because Halle is Miss Independent...a little, ok a lot, annoying at times.....
didn't quite get her legs through the right holes of her underwear...
...and I guess it's not too uncomfortable to wear your pants backwards.
She also thinks she's big like the boys and can sleep out on the floor on Saturday  nights with them.  She usually never falls asleep before the movie is over, but she must have been pooped this day.
Goofin' off in the car with brother's hat again

Just a pic of when she was sick one day...took a nap on the couch for a few hours.  Sometimes being sick isn't all bad:)

The kids got some extra large sugar cookies from Grandpa Topham for Valentine's Day this year.  Yum!!!

Halle loves to copy the boys and do whatever they are doing. Austin will sometimes use a little basketball as a pillow while he's watching TV, I found Halle copying him one night.  Pretty cute.

We went up to Ogden this year for state basketball and had a great time.  The girls did really well too.  Ended up taking 5th place! It was really fun.
Of course the only thing the kids wanna do when ya stay in a hotel is swim.  Thanks to my Dad for being Grandpa of the year and swimming with my kids in the pool since Kurtis was gone and I wasn't able to get in the pool.  And Austin was such a good big brother and helped Halle too.  What a good guy!!
Tate and Halle chillin' during one of the state games...they're really good at pulling faces!

After state basketball there's always a banquet, and we took the kids this year.  Before it started Halle was running around having a great time, and I thought I'd let her get some energy out before she had to sit still for a while.  Probably 30 seconds before Kurtis was about to start the banquet I hear crying from across the room.  Didn't think it was a big deal, thought she maybe just tripped or something.  Then I got over to her and saw some blood running down her face and knew it probably meant a trip to the hospital.  She looks happy about it huh:) Not for sure what happened, but pretty sure a table jumped right out of nowhere and hit her in the head!!
The night of the big crash...sleepin' like a baby! Really glad I paid a lot of money to go to the ER so they could glue her forehead, then have her pick the glue off the next night so it pretty much did no good.

Two rare occasions...princess dress on AND falling asleep on the floor!!

 St. Patrick's Day!!!
We made green waffles, green scrambled eggs, and had green milk.  Tate is sooooo picky, the green eggs and green milk were just too much for him.  He frustrates me pretty bad when it comes to meal time.  He usually takes one look at whatever I put on the table and says..."How many bites do I have to eat??" I can't tell you how many times he's gagged, literally, on his food. And he's often a vegetarian.  Won't eat anything with hamburger in it and usually won't eat chicken unless it's in nugget form.  He really wanted to try the green milk on St. Patrick's day but when it came right down to it he couldn't make himself do it. And he gagged just looking at the eggs.

With St. Patrick's Day being on Sunday, had to get a picture of Halle in her new green shirt and green shoes.  Too cute not to get a picture of!

Christmas 2012

Christmas came too fast this year, once again.  We had a litte family party Christmas Eve at my parents house.  It was just our little family and my Mom.  My Dad had to work, Brycen had to work, and Kurtis' Dad went to Spanish Fork to be with Greg's family.  We had the usual dinner, Nativity, games, and went to look at lights.  When we got home the kids were excited to open their PJ's.
Halle loved her snowman PJ's.  She wore them Christmas Eve, all day Christmas Day, and when I came home from work the day after Christmas she still had them on:) She loves them.

Tate was happy with his motorcycle PJs
And I was so excited for Austin to open his.  I had found Tate and Halle's PJ's, but I couldn't find any for Austin. So when I was up north one day looking around in Target I found these footie PJ's.  I just thought I was so funny:)  I was excited to see Austin's reaction. Luckily he thought it was as funny as I did.  He laughed and laughed.  I made him put them on and fashion them for us.  He felt like the kid on Christmas Story having to wear his bunny pajamas!

I ended up finding a real pair of PJs for Austin, and he decided to wear them to bed instead.

Christmas morning is always so exciting! Luckily our kids sleep in, which is really nice.  Tate woke up around 8:30, and we had to wake up Austin and Halle.  They were all so excited with their finds!

Tate didn't get an Xbox or an IPod like he wanted, but he didn't really even notice.  He got a remote control 4-wheeler, some NFL stuff, a DS game, a couple Wii games, and quite a few other treasures.
Halle got her Rapunzel doll, a vacuum, a princess castle, a Minnie Mouse shopping cart and cash register, and some books.
Austin got a motorized scooter, a Wii games, books, and a few of the zillion jerseys he asked for.

We had another great Christmas and are so grateful for our family and friends and all we have!!
Happy New Year!!
